The genre with the highest expected share of spending on SVOD originals is crime and thriller, with SVOD services forecast to spend 24 percent of their production budget on this genre in 2023. Further 20 percent of SVOD companies' spending is expected to go to science-fiction and fantasy originals, while comedy series will account for 13 percent of original spending.
