Share of portable batteries sold and collected for recycling in the EU-27 2011-2021
An estimated 242,000 metric tons of portable batteries and accumulators were sold in the European Union (EU-27) in 2021. Out of this total, about 48 percent were collected for recycling. The share of portable batteries sold in the EU-27 collected for recycling has increased nearly 13 percentage points since 2011.
