Inbound and outbound travel spending in Italy 2010-2022
Inbound and outbound travel spending in Italy rebounded in 2022, after dropping sharply with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. That year, the expenditure of international travelers in the country amounted to nearly 44.3 billion euros, roughly catching up with pre-pandemic levels. On the other hand, spending of Italian travelers abroad reached just above 26 billion euros, around four percent lower than in 2019.
