China: number of retail stores by the leading 20 luxury brands

The statistic compares the total number of retail stores of the leading 20 luxury brands in China in 2015 and 2017. Between 2015 and 2017, 138 new leading luxury brand stores were open in China, yet 144 stores were closed, therefore the aggregated number of the leading 20 luxury brand retail stores fell down to 1,119 in 2017, compared to 1,125 shops in 2015.

Underwear, children’s wear, watch/jewelry/accessory counters and outlet stores are not included for any brand. Multiple stores of one brand in a single shopping mall are also counted as one (e.g., shoe store on 1st floor while outfit store on 3rd floor).
