Distribution of private equity buyout volume in Benelux 2015-2020, by industry
From 2015 to 2019, the industrial and chemicals industry led the Benelux region in terms of the largest share of buyout activity. However in 2020, the largest share of buyout activity in the Benelux region occurred in the the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) industry, with over 25 percent of the total buyout volume. The Benelux region is composed of Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The next-leading industry in the Benelux region was the business services industry, with 20 percent of the total buyout volume. The third place ranking is completed by the industrial and chemicals industry, with 19 percent of total buyout volume.
