This statistic presents the proportion of adults who volunteered in the last year in England, between 2012 and 2020, by employment status. Over the survey periods, the level of working and non-working respondents participating in voluntary activities was about the same. Of unemployed respondents to the 2019/20 survey, around 32.3 percent had volunteered at least once in the previous year.
