This statistic shows the rate of registrations of newly diagnosed cases of skin cancer per 100,000 population in England from 1995 to 2020, by gender. Skin cancer occurs when there is abnormal cell growth in the skin, it is often caused by ultraviolet radiation. In 2020, 230.2 males and 149.6 females per 100,000 population were registered as newly diagnosed with skin cancer. This was a decrease from the previous year's rate of registration, among both males and females.
