In the 2022/23 season, total attendance at National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season games rose to 22.16 million. This figure signified a full recovery from the 2020/21 season, when attendance rates plummeted as a result of many NBA games having to be played with limited or no fans in attendance due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, as well as an all-time high in NBA attendance. The league-wide average per game attendance in the NBA for the 2022/23 season was also at a record high, exceeding 18 thousand.
