The increase was particularly remarkable in East and South-East Asia, as well as Central and South Asia. The increase in these regions must be seen in relation with increasing education that usually comes with increasing levels of development. Enrollment rates above 100 percent in Europe and North America are due to differences in data collection and inflows and outflows of students.
