Reasons for ethical consumption in Japan 2023
The majority of Japanese consumers practiced ethical consumption to contribute to the environment and society. According to a survey conducted in October 2023 in Japan, almost 54 percent of respondents stated that they wanted to purchase products that contribute to society and the environment if there are comparable products. Around 43 percent named a similar reason in that they hoped to solve environmental and social issues.
