Percentage change in residential rent in Ireland 2023, by county
The average residential rent in the different counties in Ireland increased by between eight and 24 percent in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the same period the year before. Mayo saw the most substantial rise, recording a staggering 23.4 percent increase. Roscommon claimed the second spot with a rent increase of 22.8 percent. Other counties in the top five were Donegal, Galway, and Cavan, all with rent increases ranging from 21 to 23 percent. Conversely, several counties exhibited more modest rent increases during this period. Some of the most expensive counties, including Dublin's city center, Wicklow, Cork, Meath, and Kerry reported rent increases ranging from 8 to 12 percent.
