Quarterly unemployment rate in Rio de Janeiro, by gender 2022-2023
In the fourth quarter of 2023, approximately nine percent of Rio de Janeiro's workforce was unemployed. Women in the workforce had a higher unemployment rate than men, however, the female unemployment rate saw a decrease between the first quarter of 2023 and the last quarter of that year. Rio de Janeiro's unemployment rate in Q4 of 2023 was slightly higher when compared to the monthly national average.
