Quarterly ROA of the 15 biggest banks in the U.S. 2003-2022
The majority of the leading U.S. banks had increasing ROA over the last three quarters of 2022, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, U.S. Bancorp, and PNC. In fact, TD Bank had its highest ROA since 2003, at an exceptional 2.12 percent. The other leading banks did not have record-breaking quarters in 2022, nevertheless, they performed better than during the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.
