Number of countries by nuclear power status in Asia 2023
In 2023, four Asian countries were in the process of constructing new nuclear reactors. Among them was China, which in the same year was the second-leading nuclear energy producing country worldwide. India, Japan, and South Korea were also actively building new nuclear power plants as of that year. On the other hand, Taiwan, Pakistan, and Armenia were not planning to limit or increase their nuclear energy production at that time, and Kazakhstan phased out nuclear power in 1998.
