Sales volume of Conba Changyanning in China 2017-2020
In 2020, the Chinese pharmaceutical company Conba Pharmaceutical sold 83.4 million boxes of Changyanning, a well-known Chinese patent drug in China treating diarrhea and other gastrointestinal conditions. Although costing only 16 yuan per box in the end market, Changyanning is a very profitable product, having a gross profit margin of around 50 percent. Traditional Chinese medicines are often seen as a cheaper alternative for medical treatments in China, while many believe that TCMs have fewer or no side effects.
