Florida is the U.S. state with the greatest share of housing units run on electricity alone. As of 2020, 77 percent of homes in the southern state were all-electric, meaning that electricity was used for space and water heating, air conditioning, and cooking. Hawaii had a similarly high share of all-electric houses, whilst figures were lowest for New England states.
