Opinions on democracy preventing economic growth in North Africa 2022, by country
According to a survey conducted in North Africa between October 2021 and July 2022, 70 percent of the respondents in Tunisia agreed that, under a democratic system, the country's economic performance is weak. This was the highest share in the region. Libya and Sudan followed, with 61 percent and 50 percent of the surveyed population associating democracy with limited economic performance.
