Terrestrial broadcasting accounted for about 2.17 trillion Japanese yen of the sales generated by the broadcasting industry in Japan in fiscal year 2021. It was the largest segment of the market, followed by Japan's public broadcaster NHK. The total sales of the broadcasting industry amounted to around 3.72 trillion yen during that year.
