According to a 2020-2021 survey of children and their parents in the United Kingdom, 87 percent of respondents reported their children using YouTube to watch online videos. TikTok came in second, with roughly 42 percent of parents reporting their children used the short-video app to watch content. In 2020, online video platforms became increasingly popular among children in the United Kingdom due to the restrictions brought by the coronavirus outbreak.
