Africa is the region most affected by malaria in the world. The total number of reported deaths due to the disease was roughly 91,300 deaths in 2022. The Democratic Republic of Congo registered the highest amount, nearly 24,900 fatalities, followed by Angola, with some 12,500 deaths.
