Production value of food and beverage services in Mexico 2019-2021, by business type
In 2021, the production of food and beverages by restaurants in Mexico amounted to approximately 306 billion Mexican pesos – roughly 14.9 billion U.S. dollars, based on the exchange rates of December 31 of that year. Meanwhile, production of catering services totaled some 18 billion pesos. In 2020, the contribution of the food service industry to Mexico's GDP amounted to nearly 930 billion Mexican pesos.
