In August 2019, the market share value of organic products amounted to almost five percent of consumer products sold in French hypermarkets and supermarkets. Indeed, while retailers specialized in the distribution of organic products, such as the Biomonde and Biocoop cooperatives, have seen their sales take off in recent years, supermarkets have also developed their range of organic products. It seems that this is in their interest, since from a consumption perspective, it appears that in 2020, about seven French people out of ten consumed organic products from private labels.
