According to a survey conducted in Japan in October 2023, around 37.8 percent of respondents stated that they were rather worried about the radioactive contamination of the soil, food, and water in Japan. According to the same survey, the share of Japanese people who supported the use of nuclear energy decreased drastically after the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant in 2011.
