Gross written premiums of travel insurance in Belgium, or the "Hulpverlening" (in Flemish Dutch) or "Assistance" (in French) insurance branch, increased in 2022. That year, premiums increased from the previous year to reach 311.8 million euros.

Travel insurance in Belgium is part of a much larger branch: BOAR (an abbreviation of Brand, Ongevallen en Allerlei Risico's in Flemish Dutch) or IARD (Incendie, Accidents et Risques Divers in French). This is a collection of many different insurances, such as car or any motor vehicle insurance, home contents insurance and occupational disability insurance.
