In 2022, oil exports from Latin America reached the lowest figure in at least 12 years, amounting to 4.13 million barrels per day. This represents a decrease of nearly 42 percent in comparison to 2016, when the region's exports registered the peak of the decade, at over 7.1 million daily barrels. Similarly, oil production in Latin America also showed a similar trend during the recent years.
