Carbon dioxide emissions from manufacturing industries and construction have fallen in the majority of European Union member states since 1990. While Germany remains the largest emitter, levels of CO₂ there have fallen by roughly 32 percent between 1990 and 2021 to nearly 125 million metric tons (MtCO₂).
