According to a series of surveys conducted in Hong Kong annually before the Lunar New Year, more respondents expected their holiday shopping expenditure to be higher in 2023 and 2024 in comparison to 2022. In 2024, 35 percent of respondents expected increased spending, whereas only 19 percent thought so in 2022.
