Number of deaths caused by respiratory failure in Spain by gender 2005-2021
In 2021, the annual number of deaths caused by respiratory failure in Spain amounted to 1,949 cases, from which 1,125 deaths, or nearly 58 percent of the total deaths registered that year, corresponded to women. In turn, 824 men died due to respiratory failure that year in the European country. From 2005 to 2021, Spanish women accounted for more fatal cases than men from respiratory failure.
