Italy: energy efficiency drivers in the industrial sector 2017-2018

This statistic shows the result of a survey on the main drivers for carrying out energy efficiency interventions among enterprises in Italy in 2017 and 2018. In both years, most of the energy managers of the considered companies declared that a reduction in energy consumption was the main reason for carrying out these kinds of interventions. Additionally, it is interesting to notice an increasing trend in considering energy efficiency interventions as a marketing strategy intended for both the market and the stakeholders.

*The sample analyzed was distributed among the industry sectors as follows: 12 percent food; seven percent automotive; one percent cement; six percent paper and printing; 28 percent chemical and petrochemical; four percent wood and furniture; ten percent electronics and devices; three percent pharmaceutical; nine percent metallurgic; one percent plastic and rubber; six percent textile; 13 percent glass and pottery.
