Emotional symptoms of Parkinson's disease among U.S. patients as of 2017
This statistic displays the percentage of U.S. individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD) that experienced select emotional and physical symptoms associated with chronic illness as of 2017. According to the results, 80 percent of U.S. Parkinson's patients felt scared about their future and about 59 percent felt depressed. Parkinson's disease is a degenerative disorder that affects the nerve cells in the brain that produce dopamine. This causes muscle issues, tremors, speech changes, etc. There is currently no cure for Parkinson's disease.
