Beef consumption
From 2008 to 2017, the consumption volume of beef in Norway fluctuated slightly. With more than 77.5 thousand metric tons, a peak was recorded in 2016. According to preliminary figures for 2017, the amount decreased to just over 75 thousand metric tons of beef consumed. As of this year, people from Norway consumed 14.2 kilograms of beef per person.
Pork consumption
By comparison, Norwegians seemed to liked pork meat rather than beef. During the past years, the annual consumption volume of pork generally grew. In 2017, it amounted to a volume of almost 110 thousand metric tons. The annual per capita consumption volume of pork during that year was 20.7 kilograms.
