This statistic displays the level of knowledge of respondents regarding antibiotics in Poland in 2018. Antibiotics are medications that can kill or hinder the growth of bacteria which cause infections in people and animals. Antibiotics are not used to treat viruses. In 2018, 47 percent of respondents incorrectly answered when asked if antibiotics could be used to kill viruses. 43 percent of respondents incorrectly answered when asked if antibiotics are affective against cold and flu, while 86 percent of respondents correctly answered when asked if unnecessary use of antibiotics can make them ineffective.
