This statistic displays the annual spatial ice mass loss from the Greenland Ice Sheet between 2014 and 2015. Between June 2013 and June 2014, a very small 6 metric gigatons of ice mass was lost. Since 2003, a large decrease in the surface mass balance has been noted, whereas, there was a relatively dynamic balance of increases and decreases in mass in the 110 years prior. Greenland-wide mass observations only became available in 1992.
