The statistic shows the development of impact investing value on European socially responsible investments (SIR) market, carried out by high-net worth individuals from 2011 to 2017. European impact investing expanded from 8.75 billion euros in 2011 to approximately 20.3 billion euros by the end of 2013 and further to nearly 109 billion euros in 2017.

The source adds further comments: "Due to European diversity, the wide definition of responsible investment any type of investment process that combines investors’ financial objectives with their concerns about Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. It will not come as a surprise that High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI), via their advisors (private banks and family offices), represent a strong source of finance for the sector. These investors have no particular formal or regulatory investment constraints to deal with (other than trans-generational wealth preservation), as opposed to most institutional investors and are therefore more open in general to long-term investment with different risk profiles."
