This statistic presents the proportion of adults who engaged with the arts in the last year in England, between 2005 and 2020. Arts engagement refers to attending and/or participating in the arts sector, such as visiting an art gallery or participating in a theatre performance. In the 2019/20 survey, 76.3 percent of respondents said they had engaged in at least one art event or activity in the previous year.
