Fairtrade market size in Japan 2022, by product
In 2022, coffee accounted for the majority of retail sales of products displaying the "Fairtrade" mark in Japan, with more than 82 percent. The national NPO Fairtrade Japan certifies importers that meet the standards of Fairtrade International within the Japanese market and supervises the use of the certification. That year, retail sales of certified products totaled almost 20 billion Japanese yen.
