Level of awareness of menopause among 40 to 59-year-olds Japan 2023
According to an online survey conducted among women aged 40 to 59 in Japan in 2023, only 4.9 percent of respondents reported being aware of menopause and diagnosed by a doctor, while 21.4 percent stated awareness of menopause without a doctor's diagnosis. 22.3 percent of respondents answered that they feel they may be experiencing menopausal symptoms, even though they are not consciously aware of it.
