England and Wales: children social media content exposure 2023, by gender
A 2023 survey conducted in England and Wales found that 32 percent of boys aged seven to 11 years had experienced seeing nudity on social media, whilst a further 31 percent had experienced hatred against men and boys online. Boys were more likely than girls to encounter many different types of harmful content, including hatred against men and boys. Overall, one in five girls said they had seen hate directed at women and girls on social media.
