According to a survey conducted in January 2023 in Japan, more than one third of all respondents stated that they consumed beverages fermented with lactic acid bacteria at least once per week. While approximately 13 percent claimed to drink this type of dairy product on a daily basis, around 17 percent of respondents rejected it completely.
