Food quality and safety score in Egypt from 2012-2022
In 2022, the food quality and safety score for Egypt fell to 45.9 points, a significant decrease from 60.7 points in the previous year. During the period in review, Egypt scored its highest punctuation in the category between 2015 and 2017. The current overall food security environment score in the country was 56. Food affordability, availability, quality and safety, as well as sustainability and adaptation made up the four major categories of the Global Food Security Index (GFSI).
