Share worried about the coronavirus (COVID-19) in South Africa 2021-2022
According to monthly surveys conducted in 2021 and 2022, the share of the respondents in South Africa worried about the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in their country was highest in January 2021, at 46 percent. This was during the second wave of the pandemic, after which the share of people concerned about COVID-19 dropped. However, it rose to 42 percent in July 2021 in the face of the third wave of infections in the nation. As of April 2022, respondents perceiving coronavirus as a concern in the country shrank down to only 12 percent.
