Military spending as a share of GDP in Africa 2022, by country
Algeria's spending with defense was recorded at around 10 billion U.S. dollars. Ranking in the 3rd position, Morocco spent a share of 3.9 percent of its GDP on armed forces, personnel, and military activities.
In 2022, military expenditure in Togo corresponded to 5.4 percent of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the highest share in Africa. Furthermore, Algeria followed with 4.78 percent.
