Share of U.S. consumers who used voice assistants to make purchases 2018-2020
In 2020, a total of approximately seven percent of connected device owners in the United States stated they had made a purchase using a voice-activated device while shopping for either groceries or retail products. This equates to a total of over 20 million U.S. consumers that bought items using such devices that year. Over the last two years, the number of U.S. consumers using this method nearly doubled.
