Share of teenagers who regret spending money on in-game billing Japan 2020, by gender
According to a survey conducted in Japan in September 2020, around 31 percent of boys aged 15 to 19 years old had at one point experienced regret over spending money on in-game purchases. The share among girls of the same age group was considerably lower. In-game purchases allow players to gain access to additional video game content, such as items or characters, in exchange for money.
