Net sales growth of EABL in Uganda 2018-2020
The net sales of alcoholic beverages by East African Breweries Limited (EABL) in Uganda decreased by five percent in 2020, after registering a growth rate of eight percent in the previous year. The drop was driven by a total lockdown implemented in the country between March and June to contain the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. EABL is a subsidiary of the global alcohol producer Diageo. Based in Kenya, the company also operates in Uganda and Tanzania, which respectively contributed 16 percent and 15 percent of EABL's total sales.
