Books removed from public libraries due to national security law in Hong Kong 2020
In Hong Kong's public libraries, nine titles written by pro-democracy figures had been pulled from the shelves, pending a review whether the books would violate the new national security law as of July 4, 2020. On June 30, 2020, Beijing imposed a controversial national security law on Hong Kong which prohibits acts of secession, subversion, terrorism and collusion with foreign forces in the city.
