Number of authorized milk sales businesses Japan FY 2014-2020
In 2020, almost 205 thousand authorized milk sales businesses were registered in Japan, continuing the downward trend of the recent years. Businesses such as retailers and manufacturers dealing with milk, goat milk, milk drinks, and cream for direct consumption are required to acquire a permit under the Food Sanitation Law.
