Online banking penetration worldwide 2023, by country
Six out of 149 observed countries had an online banking penetration rate exceeding 90 percent in 2023. The United Kingdom led the ranking, with a penetration rate of 98.41 percent. It was followed by Norway and Iceland, with penetration rates of 95.77 percent and 95.43 percent, respectively. The 10 countries with the highest only banking penetration were all European countries. The non-European country with the highest penetration rate was South Korea, with 80.96 percent.
