Benefits of eSports to rights owners worldwide 2020
The eSports industry has experienced a significant boom in recent years, no doubt helped by the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 which forced the cancelation of many sporting events and traditional sports leagues. However, it remains to be seen whether the fledgling market will find its space in an already packed sports industry. During an August 2020 survey among sports industry leaders worldwide, almost 75 percent of respondents claimed that eSports would benefits rights owners by allowing them to engage a new fan base with their sport.
