According to a 2019 survey of smartphone users in selected markets, 38 percent of respondents felt that they did not have a choice in giving up their personal data despite when agreeing to terms and conditions when using apps and services. Additionally, only 12 percent of smartphone users felt that they were never asked for permission, even though they knew their personal data was being collected.
